Wavves’ new album Afraid of Heights is out March 26 via Mom + Pop. And after divulging a few album details and sharing the track “Sail to the Sun”, the band has offered the tracklist, artwork, and a new song from the King of the Beach follow up. Check out “Demon to Lean On” above.
Afraid of Heights is available for pre-order now. You can buy it on vinyl, with a bunch of pins, with a t-shirt, and with Nathan Williams’ Negative Dad comics. Or on iTunes.
The duo of Williams and Stephen Pope are heading out on an enormous North American tour behind the album. Check out their dates with FIDLAR and Cheatahs below.
Williams discussed the overall tone of the new album in a press release:

“The general theme of the record is depression and anxiety, being death-obsessed and paranoid of impending doom. I feel like the narration is almost schizophrenic if you listen front to back; every word is important, even the constant contradictions and lack of self-worth. That’s all a part of this record-questioning everything not because I’m curious, but because I’m paranoid.”

The press release also notes that Williams paid for the album’s sessions out-of-pocket. Aspreviously reported, Afraid of Heights will feature guest work from Jenny Lewis, Rilo Kiley frontwoman and bearer of pot cookies.
